Cuatro Groos
Cuatro was born Ernest Groos IV in San Antonio, Texas. From day one, the nickname “Cuatro” stuck. He holds undergraduate degrees as well as an MBA and Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a Certified Insurance Counselor.
Before working in the insurance industry, Cuatro worked as a reporter and later as a legislative analyst in the Texas Legislature. After receiving his MBA, he worked in the technology sector as a marketing manager and analyst.
Cuatro has been serving businesses and entrepreneurs as an insurance advisor since 2001. He specializes in employee benefits for small and mid-sized companies. Growing up in a small family business and later working in the startup world gave him a love for small business and a deep respect for the courage it takes to start, grow and run a business.
Cuatro spends a significant amount of time serving his community. He has served on the boards of Foster Angels of Central Texas, Seton Fund’s “The Fifty”, the Northwest Austin Civic Association, the Young Men’s Business League of Austin and the Austin chapter of the McComb’s MBA Alumni Network. Cuatro was a founding member of the Northwest Austin Athletic Association and Hill Country Pop Warner.
His family includes his wife, Alicia, an intellectual property attorney, and his three children- Carsten, Gwyneth, and Maisy. Cuatro loves travel, tennis, golf, and the outdoors.
